Ben Shapiro (born January 15, 1984, in Burbank, California) is a blunt-spoken conservative American commentator and host of The Ben Shapiro Show, one of the country’s most popular political podcasts.
Shapiro grew up in Burbank, Los Angeles County, in a modest two-bedroom house shared with his three older sisters. His mother was a TV company executive, and his father was a composer and pianist; both parents were Reagan Republicans.
In 2015, Ben Shapiro co-founded The Daily Wire, a conservative media company producing podcasts, streamed shows, scripted movies, and documentaries. By 2024, the company's estimated value exceeded $220 million.
