In recognition of their service and sacrifice, TransLink will honor veterans and active military personnel this Remembrance Day by offering them free transit on Tuesday, November 11.
The free transit benefit applies to:
Eligible individuals can access free transit by presenting their badge, military ID, Veteran’s Service Card, or wearing their uniform. Veterans and other eligible customers do not need to tap their Compass Card for bus or HandyDART trips. An accessible fare gate at SkyTrain and SeaBus stations will remain open between 8 a.m.
Holiday fares will be in effect for other customers on Tuesday, November 11.
TransLink also acknowledges National Indigenous Veterans Day on Saturday, November 8, honoring Indigenous veterans and their role in supporting peace and security worldwide.
The Royal Canadian Legion will distribute poppies by donation at various transit hubs across Metro Vancouver.
Customers are encouraged to use transit to attend Remembrance Day ceremonies throughout the region.
