Miss Universe Mexico 2025, Fatima Bosch, spoke out against what she described as disrespectful treatment by Nawat Itsaragrisi, a Thai businessman and president of Miss Universe for Asia and Oceania.
During a preliminary event in Bangkok on November 3, Itsaragrisi reportedly ordered Bosch to stand and questioned her about missing a sponsor photoshoot. The situation escalated when he allegedly insulted her and told her to be quiet.
“Anyone who wants to continue in the competition, sit down,” Itsaragrisi said to the contestants, even calling for security to remove Bosch at one point.
In response, several contestants stood up and walked out in solidarity with Bosch before the sash ceremony. The confrontation was recorded live and quickly spread across social media.
“We are empowered women, and this platform is meant to give us a voice — no one can silence us,” Bosch told reporters.
She claimed Itsaragrisi called her “stupid” amid the dispute, explaining that he seemed upset due to conflicts with the Miss Universe organization. Bosch expressed her commitment to behaving respectfully and with kindness despite the incident.
“I’m here doing everything right — I don’t bother anyone, I try to be kind, I’m doing my best — and he told me to shut up,” she said.
Despite the conflict, Bosch showed respect for Thailand and urged women not to accept degrading treatment.
The controversy surrounding the treatment of Miss Universe Mexico highlights ongoing tensions within the pageant, while emphasizing the contestants’ determination to stand up against mistreatment and support one another.
