No Easter Festival of Plays in 2026, One Act Plays to Continue

The Manx Amateur Drama Federation (MADF) celebrated its 75th anniversary this year. Following this milestone, MADF has announced it will not hold its traditional Easter Festival of Plays in 2026.

Instead, the federation plans to host a Festival of One Act Plays in March at the Erin Arts Centre. This event is scheduled for March 12-14 and will keep the spirit of the festival alive during the year off.

Festival of One Act Plays Details

MADF has invited drama societies from both the UK and the Isle of Man to participate by entering short plays. These will be performed and judged by Sue Doherty from the Guild of Drama Adjudicators.

Sue Doherty brings over 40 years of experience in arts education and theatre.

Prizes will be awarded on the final night for categories including Best Play, Best Actor, and Best Dramatic Moment.
