Sculpture of Trump Strapped to a Cross Displayed in Switzerland

A realistic sculpture of Donald Trump wearing an orange jumpsuit and strapped to a cross has sparked conversation and amusement in Switzerland, where it was unveiled this week.

About the Artwork

The piece, created by British artist Mason Storm and titled Saint or Sinner, shows the US president dressed in prison clothing, eyes closed, lying on a slightly tilted, cushioned white cross. The imagery suggests a possible crucifixion or lethal injection execution.

Exhibition Details

The sculpture has been exhibited since Saturday in Basel, a city in northern Switzerland, after previously being displayed in Vienna earlier this year.

Reactions and Gallery Information

"It is scary realistic," said Konrad Breznik, owner of the Gleis 4 gallery presenting the sculpture. "When we installed it, we came that close, and you would see every wrinkle and the skin is so realistic, it's really scary."

The gallery initially planned to show the work from September at its location inside Basel's central train station. However, it later opted for a quieter venue, placing the piece in a showcase window on Basler Kunstmeile, a pedestrian street in central Basel.

Electronic counters recorded over 3,000 visitors passing by on Monday alone.
