Seven neighbours on a street in Brookmans Park will share a £1 million prize from the People's Postcode Lottery's weekly draw. The postcode AL9 6PT won the "Millionaire Street" prize.
Steven Bean, 52, one of the triple-ticket winners, pledged to donate part of his £250,000 prize to a charity supporting adults with learning difficulties. He and his wife Olesya plan to help Camphill Milton Keynes, whose minibus was stolen and set on fire.
“The first thing I’m going to do is give some money to a charity who had a bus stolen and burned.”
“The bus is insured, but it won’t cover the cost of getting a new one. Hopefully other people will give them a few quid too.”
Camphill Milton Keynes' head of development, Lucy Davies, shared:
“It has been a very difficult time for our residents who have found this situation very confusing and upsetting.”
Steven Bean’s generosity highlights community spirit, as lottery winnings will support a charity recovering from a devastating loss.
