Cameron Norrie advanced his 2025 season by winning his first match at the Metz Open on Monday. He defeated French player Valentin Royer in a tough three-set match, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3.
Earlier in the year, Norrie made headlines by stunning Carlos Alcaraz at the Paris Masters. Alcaraz sent him a warm message after their match. However, Norrie was later defeated by Valentin Vacherot, the Shanghai Masters champion, who exited the tournament in the quarter-finals.
With the victory over Royer, Norrie secured his 31st ATP Tour win of 2025, surpassing the previous British record held by Jack Draper.
