Big Brother Australia is making a comeback on Channel 10 in 2025. Fans can look forward to new contestants, fresh filming locations, and an exciting premiere date.
The show’s host, Mel Tracina, revealed some details about the range of contestants, emphasizing their diversity. Although the final cast is still being finalized, the age group spans five decades.
“It’s ranging from a grandmother to a single mum to a barber to a self-confessed bogan,” Mel said.
She added that participants include both blue-collar and white-collar workers, highlighting the varied backgrounds of the cast.
Big Brother Australia originally premiered in 2001 and aired for eight seasons until 2008. It was revived by Channel Nine in 2012 for three seasons, then moved to Channel Seven for five seasons before being canceled in 2024 due to declining ratings.
On September 16, 2024, Network 10 confirmed the show’s return with a renewed vision. Mel Tracina noted the show's broad appeal:
“You don’t need to fit certain criteria to be in the house. You don’t need to be physically or mentally strong, like you would [on] Survivor. You don’t need to be single, like you would on MAFS.”
The revival promises an inclusive environment where various types of people can take part, distinguishing it from other reality competitions that require specific qualities or statuses.
Author's summary: Big Brother Australia returns in 2025 with a diverse cast spanning generations and backgrounds, emphasizing inclusivity over strict participant criteria.
