Egypt narrowly missed out on winning the first-ever IHF Men’s U17 World Championship, falling 44–43 in extra time to Germany after a thrilling match. The Pharaohs showed great skill and determination throughout the tournament.
After trailing 18–17 at halftime, Egypt surged ahead in the second half, taking a 25–21 lead. Germany managed to rally back and forced extra time with a last-second equalizer, tying the score 37–37 at the end of regular time.
Despite a crucial goal from Youssef Amr late in the first extra period, Germany held on to a slim lead and secured the victory at 44–43 by the end of the second half of extra time.
