Shivam Dube secured a key wicket by dismissing Tim David during the third T20I between India and Australia in Hobart on Sunday, November 2. Tilak Varma supported the effort with an impressive boundary catch.
David scored a rapid 74 runs off just 38 balls, maintaining a strike rate of 194.74. His innings included five sixes and eight boundaries. His dismissal came on the last ball of the 13th over in Australia's innings.
Earlier in the over, David had hit two sixes, but Dube bowled a fuller-length delivery on middle, prompting David to go forward and loft the ball. The shot was flat-batted, allowing Varma to catch it near the long-off boundary.
"Varma moved towards his left to grab the catch, ensuring he stayed inches away from the boundary skirtings at long-off."
Dube celebrated the wicket with a double first-pump.
David’s knock and Marcus Stoinis’s 64 off 39 balls helped Australia post a total of 186/6 against India. Stoinis hit two sixes and eight fours, while Matthew Short remained unbeaten on 26 from 15 deliveries. Travis Head and captain Mitchell Marsh faltered, scoring 6 and 11 runs respectively. Josh Inglis and Mitchell Owen also underperformed with the bat.
Arshdeep Singh led the bowling for India, taking 3 wickets for 35 runs. Varun Chakaravarthy also contributed with two wickets.
