In the center of The Line project in Saudi Arabia, a groundbreaking stadium powered by renewable energy is planned to take shape. Named Neom Stadium, it will be among the fifteen venues hosting the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
Recent videos and digital renderings circulating on social media depict a striking structure—a stadium seemingly balanced atop a futuristic skyscraper, suspended over a glowing desert metropolis intersected by bright highways.
According to these visuals and related reports, the stadium would belong to Neom, the new Saudi city located north of the Red Sea and east of Egypt. Yet, official sources clarify that such floating designs do not appear in confirmed architectural plans.
Despite the rumors, the real Neom Stadium remains an ambitious symbol of innovation. The project outlined in the official Saudi Arabia FIFA World Cup 2034 Bid Book highlights an ultramodern and sustainable arena integrated into The Line, the linear city envisioned within the Saudi Vision 2030 framework.
“Developed within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030 — Saudi Arabia’s long-term strategy for sustainable infrastructure — the Neom Stadium stands as the flagship project of The Line, a 500-meter-high city powered entirely by renewable energy.”
The Line itself is designed to accommodate around nine million residents across vertically arranged districts covering approximately 34 square kilometers. With its futuristic infrastructure and ecological approach, the stadium represents a bold step in redefining urban and sports architecture.
Neom Stadium, part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 project, merges sustainability and architectural innovation as a future World Cup venue within the linear city The Line.
