BEST Announces New Bus Routes and Service Changes Effective November 1
The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport ([translate: BEST]) Undertaking implemented significant updates to its bus services starting November 1. These changes include new routes, route adjustments, cancellations, and conversion of select routes to air-conditioned buses to enhance passenger comfort and operational efficiency.
New Bus Routes
Among the additions is route A-101, connecting the World Trade Center and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. Key stops include G D Somani Road, President Hotel, Colaba, Hutatma Rajguru Chowk, and Madame Cama Road. Operating Monday through Saturday, this route improves connectivity in south Mumbai.
The return trip covers Hutatma Chowk, Veer Nariman Road, Churchgate, and other landmarks.
Route Restructuring
- Route A-1 now runs between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Santacruz Depot, terminating at CSMT instead of Colaba Depot.
- Route A-6 operates between Backbay Depot and Tata Power Station with updated timings and adjusted paths.
- Routes A-44, A-47, A-48, and A-49 have been shortened or had terminals changed to optimize service.
Upgrade to Air-Conditioned Service
Several routes have been converted to air-conditioned buses to increase passenger comfort during travel.
