Laying of the First Poppy and Remembrance Sunday Parade in Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough will honor those who fought in conflicts worldwide and gave their lives for peace. Elected Mayor Chris Cooke will lay the First Poppy at the Cenotaph on Linthorpe Road at 10:45 AM on Thursday, November 6.

Local school pupils have been invited to place poppy crosses on the Field of Remembrance as a tribute.

Remembrance Sunday Parade & Service

Armistice Day Service

The Armistice Day service will be held at The Cenotaph on Tuesday, November 11, starting at 10:45 AM and will include a two-minute silence.

Both services will be led by Reverend David Goodhew, Vicar of St Barnabas Church, Middlesbrough.

Councillor Linda Lewis, Middlesbrough Council’s Armed Forces Champion, said: “Remembrance has never been more important and is our acknowledgement of the selfless sacrifice of others to preserve and protect the freedoms we all enjoy today.”
