Seven poaches AFL reporter Tom Morris

Nine’s chief AFL reporter Tom Morris has joined Seven after two years with his former network, taking on roles covering both football and cricket.

According to the Herald Sun, Morris informed Nine on Friday morning after receiving an attractive offer facilitated by Seven’s head of sport Chris Jones and SEN chief Craig Hutchison. His passion for both footy and cricket reportedly influenced his decision, as Seven broadcasts both sports.

This move continues a trend of Nine’s AFL talent shifting networks in the past 18 months, including Kane Cornes, Caroline Wilson, and Craig Hutchison. Morris’s contract with Nine officially ends on December 31.

I will turn him off when Tom Morris appears on screen. I don’t think he is a very nice person given that he had history of controversies.
7’s AFL commentary team are getting worse with every passing year. He is the worst AFL journo out there. Their team is getting worse not better.
I would love to find out what the percentage of ex Nine staff is on the Seven payroll. It’s all very incestuous (for want of a better word). Seven aren’t even close to the worst offenders.

Author’s summary: Tom Morris, formerly Nine’s chief AFL reporter, has moved to Seven to cover football and cricket, sparking mixed reactions over media talent crossovers.
