The Christmas Pageant officially marks the start of the festive season tomorrow morning. Road users are advised to plan their travel carefully due to several closures throughout the CBD.
Event Details and Traffic Impact
With over 300,000 spectators expected, major roads will be closed from early morning until the afternoon. The Pageant will follow its usual route:
- Starting at South Terrace
- Turning onto King William Street
- Tracing the western edge of Tarntanyangga
- Passing through Reconciliation Plaza
- Continuing along Wakefield Street, Pulteney Street, and North Terrace
- Ending at Beehive Corner

“The Christmas Pageant brings huge numbers to the city each year so road closures will be in place tomorrow morning to keep everyone safe,” said RAA Senior Manager Safety and Infrastructure Charles Mountain.
“On-street parking will be as rare as a white Christmas, so check for off-street options and allow plenty of extra time if you’re driving to the Pageant.”
