Blue Jays manager John Schneider likes this costume much better than a year ago

Blue Jays Manager John Schneider Prefers This Costume Over Last Year

John Schneider is not a big fan of Halloween, which may not surprise many. Instead of celebrating the holiday in a traditional way, he spent a Friday evening at the Rogers Centre with his team, facing a chance to complete a remarkable last-to-first season by winning the Blue Jays' first World Series title in 32 years.

“Sitting in my neighbour’s driveway drinking a beer and giving candy,” Schneider said before Game 6 of the World Series. “I think Halloween’s a made-up holiday anyway. It’s kind of my least favourite holiday of the year. So if it’s a chance to hang out in the neighbourhood and have a couple of cold ones and laugh at some costumes, I’m all for it.”

Schneider added that he prefers his current costume to last year’s, referring to his Blue Jays apparel. Beyond Halloween, he was focused on the significant task ahead: helping his team secure a championship after more than three decades.

“I always have that positive outlook, sometimes to the point of frustration to myself or people around me,” Schneider reflected. “I think you always have to say that could be the possibility. You never know who is going to do what and every postseason game that has a twist and a turn. I think that we’ve done a good job of understanding that as a team.”

This mindset connects with the excitement and unpredictability of Game 6 in this 121st Fall Classic, blending the spirit of Halloween’s tricks and treats with the twists of postseason baseball.

Author’s summary: John Schneider embraces a positive outlook amid Blue Jays' historic World Series run, favoring baseball over traditional Halloween celebrations.
