SALT LAKE CITY — Elder Gérald Caussé has been called to serve as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His calling was announced on Thursday, and he was ordained by President Dallin H. Oaks along with the First Presidency and other members of the Quorum.
Caussé, who previously served as the Presiding Bishop of the Church, has long been recognized for his leadership and faith. He recently addressed youth at a devotional in Versailles, France, on July 21, 2024.
“I’ve always had a testimony of Jesus Christ,” said Elder Caussé. “He’s always been at the center of my life. I know He is our Savior and Redeemer. To bear witness of Christ is the greatest calling and stewardship one could ever have.”
According to church teachings, Apostles are special witnesses of the name of Christ throughout the world
and have significant responsibilities in guiding the global Church’s operations and growth.
Born in Bordeaux, France, Elder Caussé is 62 years old and continues to be an influential figure in the Church’s international leadership.
