Netflix Surprises Fans with First Five Minutes of 'Stranger Things' Season 5

Fans of Stranger Things have received an early look at the fifth and final season with Netflix releasing its first five minutes. The opening scene intriguingly takes place during the timeline of season 1, offering a surprising glimpse into the past.

Season 5 Opens on November 12, 1983

The season begins inside the Upside Down, where Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) is seen six days after his disappearance. A de-aged Schnapp portrays 12-year-old Will, visibly frightened and confused in the Upside Down's eerie version of Castle Byers.

Will quietly sings "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by The Clash to calm himself. This song was introduced to Will by his older brother Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) in the series' pilot episode.

Encounter with the Demogorgon

Will's moment of calm is shattered when a demogorgon crashes through Castle Byers. He manages to shoot the creature with a hunting rifle and attempts to escape by climbing a tree. The demogorgon follows, causing Will to fall unconscious.

Meeting Vecna in the Upside Down

The creature drags Will to the Upside Down's version of Hawkins Library, where the sinister Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) awaits.

“You and I, we are going to do such beautiful things together, William,” Vecna tells Will.
