Police have condemned the "absolutely unacceptable" behavior of a group of youths who targeted them with fireworks in Preston city centre.
The incident occurred over the weekend, with up to 30 youths aiming fireworks at members of the public and their properties, before turning their attention to the police.
According to Lancashire Constabulary, around 25 fireworks were aimed at police vehicles, with some exploding within arm's reach.
As a result, patrols have been increased in the affected areas.
