Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder charge following a shooting incident after a celebrity boxing event in Miami, police confirmed on Thursday.
Brown, 37, was detained by U.S. Marshals in Dubai. He was then transported to Essex County, New Jersey, where he is currently held pending extradition to Miami. The reasons for his initial transfer to New Jersey and the length of his stay in Dubai remain unclear, despite recent social media posts from there.
The shooting occurred on May 16. According to an arrest warrant, Brown allegedly took a handgun from a security staff member following the boxing match and fired two shots at a man with whom he had previously been involved in a fistfight.
