Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula have secured their spots in the final four of the 2025 WTA Finals held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The two advanced from the Stefanie Graf Group, eliminating reigning champion Coco Gauff and Olympic doubles gold medallist Jasmine Paolini after an intense day of competition on Thursday, 6 November.
Earlier in the day, Pegula defeated Paolini 6–2, 6–3. In the semi-finals scheduled for Friday, 7 November at the King Saud University Indoor Arena, Sabalenka will face Amanda Anisimova, while Pegula is set to meet Elena Rybakina.
“I was just trying to stay aggressive, find my rhythm and find my game,” said Sabalenka after her victory. “I was working for the second set already, but then magically was able to turn things around. I’m super happy with the performance, super happy to get this win in straight sets and just happy to be through the round robin.”
“I finally got a straight sets win for the first time in a few months,” Pegula shared following her 63-minute win over Paolini. “That always feels really good. I thought I served really well and played solid today. I was aggressive when I needed to be. There wasn’t much negative today.”
Sabalenka and Pegula advanced to the WTA Finals semi-finals in Riyadh after impressive group-stage wins, setting up high-stakes matches against Anisimova and Rybakina.
