Antonio Brown Extradited from Dubai to Face Miami Shooting Trial

Former NFL player Antonio Brown has been extradited from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to the United States to stand trial on an attempted murder charge linked to a shooting in Miami earlier this year, according to police.

Authorities confirmed on Thursday that Brown, 37, is currently being held in Essex County, New Jersey, while awaiting a transfer to Miami-Dade County. Officials have not disclosed the exact timing of his apprehension or the date of his transport to Florida.

“This is just another example of the relentless work and dedication of Miami Police detectives, working closely with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office and U.S. Marshals to identify and arrest those who commit crimes in the City of Miami,” said a police spokesperson.

The former All-Pro wide receiver is charged with attempted murder following a May 16 altercation at a boxing event hosted by influencer Adin Ross. Brown’s social media posts indicated that he had been residing in Dubai for several months before his arrest.

When the Miami arrest warrant was issued in June, Brown’s attorney arranged a $10,000 bond with house arrest conditions. However, Brown never surrendered to authorities, and law enforcement agencies declined to comment on their extradition plans at that time.
