Director Edgar Wright is preparing a new, faithful adaptation of Stephen King’s novel The Running Man. In addition to reviving King’s intense story, Wright is also rekindling a fan-favorite tradition: the DVD commentary track.
One scene from the film stood out to viewers — not for emotion, but for its display of physical strength. The sequence features Glen Powell, Daniel Ezra, and Lee Pace in sleeveless shirts, which became a small but memorable moment highlighting the cast’s energy and presence.
Wright admitted he noticed the same thing when filming and recalled the day during the commentary session.
“It’s funny, we did the commentary for the film the other day and it was actually Glen’s first DVD commentary,” Wright said. “And I said something to him, which I didn’t say to him on set, there’s a scene with him and Daniel Ezra who plays Bradley. I said, ‘You guys were really having a gun off this day.’ Glen said, ‘Oh yeah, it was the gun show’ because Daniel is in incredible shape.”
Wright emphasized that alongside The Running Man’s release, audiences can expect the kind of behind-the-scenes insights once treasured on DVD extras, giving fans new appreciation for both the cast and filmmaking process.
