Colombo, November 5 (Daily Mirror) — Former MP and Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka stated that more efforts are needed to completely eliminate the underworld network in Sri Lanka.
"Arresting individuals such as Madush and Kehelbadara Padme will not end the underworld. There is still much more to do," Fonseka told journalists.
He emphasized that dismantling the underworld is not an impossible mission and can be achieved with sustained determination.
"The present government appears committed to eradicating the underworld, and I sincerely hope this goal will be realized soon," he added.
The statement by Sarath Fonseka reignited public debate on combating organized crime, with citizens urging stronger action and unified political will to end the underworld’s influence.
