Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SSO) reported on November 7 that their long-range drones targeted an oil depot and logistic facilities in the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula. The operation aimed at disrupting enemy military resources.
The oil depot near the village of Hvardiiske, about 20 kilometers north of Simferopol, was hit. The SSO stated that a full RVS-400 tank, used for storing oil and petroleum products, was destroyed in the strike.
"Special Operations Forces continue to act asymmetrically in countering the enemy's military capabilities."
Drone footage of the attacks was shared by the SSO via Telegram. The Russian occupational administration in Crimea has not commented on these claims, and independent verification by The Kyiv Independent was not possible.
The SSO also said their drones struck several other oil depots and fuel storage facilities in and around Simferopol. Two trains with tank wagons carrying petroleum products were targeted at a loading-unloading site as well.
At a briefing in Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed plans for mass production of one of the most popular drones used in this conflict, the DJI Mavic, to support ongoing operations.
This update marks day 1,353 of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, highlighting continued Ukrainian efforts to challenge Russian military logistics in occupied territories.
