During a recent episode of the game show “Jeopardy!”, fans spotted a major factual mistake in one of the clues. The error quickly spread on social media, prompting host Ken Jennings to issue a public apology.
The clue appeared in the category “Daddy, Is There Really A…”, with a value of $800. The prompt read: “No: A.I. generated the TikTok image of this pig/human eventually killed by Tim Cheese.” None of the contestants attempted to answer.
“I didn’t understand any of that,” Jennings said, before revealing the correct question: “Who is John Pork?”
Immediately after the episode aired on October 24, viewers took to TikTok and other platforms to correct the show’s claim about John Pork.
“John Pork predates AI; this is wrong,” wrote one viewer.
“John Pork is a photoshopped being — how dare you call him AI,” another commented.
“Many of us are still grieving John,” a third user said.
“John Pork first posted on Instagram in 2018, not AI generated,” added another.
“John Pork isn’t AI — his official Instagram account has existed since around 2017,” one more viewer explained.
Following the backlash, Ken Jennings acknowledged the mistake, apologizing for the inaccurate clue that misrepresented John Pork’s origins.
Ken Jennings’s apology came after “Jeopardy!” fans challenged an incorrect clue labeling digital persona John Pork as AI-generated, sparking wide discussion online.
