Dartmouth football looks to get back on track against Princeton this Saturday

Dartmouth Football Looks to Rebound Against Princeton This Saturday

After a challenging road loss to undefeated Harvard, the Big Green prepare to face the Princeton Tigers in a determined matchup this weekend. Dartmouth aims to refocus and reclaim momentum following last Saturday’s 31-10 defeat, where Harvard’s potent offense and relentless defense proved decisive.

Despite the setback, the team showed resilience in the third quarter, fighting to regain control of the game and demonstrating improvement on both sides of the ball.

“We came out of halftime and really battled and put ourselves right back in the game,” head coach Sammy McCorkle said. “But they just out-executed us and we didn’t make enough plays when we did get that momentum going … We talked about it at halftime. Just go out there and take one play at a time, and let’s make sure we just do what we do. I think we did that in the third quarter.”

Offensive Adjustments and Takeaways

“We showed that when we play at our best we can execute against anyone,” said tight end Chris Corbo ’26, a 2024 All-Ivy First Team selection. “We came out of halftime with a purpose.”

Corbo’s comments reflect the offense’s confidence moving forward and their belief that strong execution will be key against Princeton.

Defensive Focus

“With that game, specifically the pressure, we continued to put on the quarterback [which] was a huge thing,” defensive end Joshua Johnson ’27 said.

Johnson noted that the team’s increased defensive pressure was a positive takeaway and something they plan to replicate in the upcoming matchup.
