Honoring Veterans at Eldred World War II Museum

Veterans Dick Bondi and Bernard Adams were celebrated at the Eldred World War II Museum on September 2, 2025, where they received Freedom Medals. The medals could be seen hanging from blue lanyards worn by the veterans during the ceremony.

Dick Bondi’s Service and Legacy

Dick Bondi, a native of Geneseo now living in Dansville, served aboard the U.S. Navy submarine Caiman during World War II. His 1943 enlistment photo was displayed at the ceremony as a tribute to his service.
