“I have no problem singing, but I have to prioritize my health.” Paul Rodgers shares bad news about Bad Company’s upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony

Paul Rodgers Announces Absence from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony

Paul Rodgers has confirmed that he will not attend the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony scheduled for this weekend, disappointing fans who hoped for a reunion. Rodgers cites his recent health challenges as the reason for his absence, although Bad Company will still be represented at the event.

Bad Company's Induction and Lineup

Bad Company is being honored as part of the Hall of Fame class of 2025, marking their first nomination. Alongside them, Seattle’s Soundgarden, The White Stripes, and session legend Carol Kaye will be inducted. Oasis, nominated in previous years, will have to wait longer for induction.

Band Members' Participation

Fans anticipated that surviving members Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke would perform to honor late bandmates Mick Ralphs and Boz Burrell. However, Rodgers’ recent health problems have prevented this plan from coming to fruition.

“My hope was to be at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time, I have to prioritize my health,” Rodgers shared on Instagram. “I have no problem singing; it's the stress of everything else.”

Health and Band Status

Rodgers, who co-founded Bad Company after Free disbanded, has suffered multiple strokes in recent years. These health issues led to the band retiring in 2023, with their final performance in 2019 opening for Lynyrd Skynyrd in Las Vegas.

Current Band Lineup

Since 2008, former Heart guitarist Howard Leese has been the band’s lead guitarist.

Author's summary: Despite health setbacks forcing Paul Rodgers to miss the Rock Hall ceremony, Bad Company remains honored, highlighting their enduring legacy in rock music.
