The Powerball grand prize is approaching half a billion dollars after no jackpot winner emerged in Monday’s drawing.
South Carolina allows lottery winners to maintain anonymity, joining 10 other states with similar policies.
South Carolina is one of 11 states — including Arizona, Delaware, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia — that permit lottery winners to remain anonymous.
"The winner has 180 days to claim the prize and will be allowed to retain some privacy," said lottery officials in their news release.
The search is currently underway to find the ticket holder.
