The fourth Twenty20 international between New Zealand and the West Indies was abandoned on Monday due to persistent rain after fewer than seven overs were completed.
West Indies had reached 38-1 off 6.3 overs after being sent to bat. The innings ended prematurely when a second rain interruption forced the match to stop at Nelson’s Saxton Oval.
Alick Athanaze, who scored 21, was the only wicket to fall. He tried to loft a James Neesham delivery over mid-on but misjudged, allowing Daryl Mitchell to catch him while running back.
Amir Jangoo remained unbeaten on 12, and captain Shai Hope was not out on three.
New Zealand holds a 2-1 lead in the series, with the fifth and final match scheduled to take place in Dunedin on Thursday.
