Victorian team secures place in Scania’s ‘Top Team’ Asian Regional finals

A team from Scania’s company-owned Dandenong Branch has won the Australian National Top Team competition for the second consecutive year. They will travel to Bangkok in early 2026 to compete in the Asian Regional finals, aiming to qualify for the World Finals in Sweden, where two spots are available.

Competition overview

Seven teams from Scania’s Australian company-owned branches participated in the National Finals, after a knockout round involving eight other teams nationwide.

“Top Team is a global Scania initiative that celebrates and develops the professionalism of our service teams, strengthening technical capability, efficiency, and collaboration within our workshops,” said Stefan Weber, Director of Aftersales at Scania Australia, who managed the Top Team event held at Scania’s Campbellfield head office in late October.

Dandenong team’s achievement

Team Dandenong won overall for the second time in a row, led by team captain Chris Chilver. He described this year’s National Finals as the toughest in his four-year participation.

“We had good team spirit; we weren’t put off if we had a low score from one of the stations when we went to the next one. It was evident that it was going to be a tough event, so we just buckled down. We allocated each team member to the tasks that best used their strengths. I think we worked quite well together,” Chris explained.

Summary

The Dandenong team demonstrated resilience and strategic teamwork to defend their national title and earn a chance to compete internationally.

Author’s summary: The Dandenong branch secured their second straight national win, showcasing strong teamwork and resilience as they prepare for the Asian Regional finals in Bangkok.
