The book For a Bioethics Culture. Casebook 2010–2021 was launched yesterday at the Barcelona College of Physicians. It was prepared by the Clinical Ethics Committee of Hospital Clínic and published in collaboration with the Hospital, the Chair of Legal Medicine, Professional Responsibility and Clinical Safety of the University of Barcelona, and the Barcelona College of Physicians.
This volume compiles 16 real ethical cases deliberated by the Clinical Ethics Committee over eleven years, from 2010 to 2021. It presents ethical dilemmas encountered in clinical practice along with the committee’s bioethical analysis and recommendations.
Coordinated by Ferran Masanés and Ferran Céspedes, former secretary of the Hospital Clínic’s Clinical Ethics Committee, the book offers detailed case studies. Each case includes:
