Replacement of Sandown Lifeboat Station
Sandown Lifeboat Station, deemed "no longer fit for purpose", may be replaced with a new building to continue its life-saving service.
The current station, located on Sandown's Western Esplanade, has become "structurally unsound" and "beyond economical repair".
- The Island charity, Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat, is seeking planning permission to demolish the current station.
- A new, "resilient" two-storey station is proposed to be built in its place.

A public consultation on the application is open until November 7, with a decision scheduled for November 26.
