On Tuesday, October 14, flights at Kelowna and Victoria airports were delayed due to a cyber security incident.
Public address systems and screens were hacked, displaying pro-Hamas messages, including "Free Palestine" and curses against the U.S.
The YLW team has successfully removed the unauthorized messaging and restored our flight information display screens.
The City of Kelowna stated that the incident was limited to a cloud-based third-party software provider.
The messaging was visible for about two minutes, causing disruptions at both the Kelowna International Airport (YLW) and Victoria International Airport (YYJ).
