Police Investigate Report of Sexual Assault in Welland
A woman was sexually assaulted during a late-night attack in Welland, according to the Niagara Regional Police.
The victim reported that she was walking around midnight in the area of Woodlawn Road and Clare Avenue when she asked a question to a man unknown to her. The man then assaulted her and tried to drag her into a wooded area.
Fortunately, the woman was able to access her phone, which caused the suspect to stop the assault, allowing her to escape.
