‘You couldn’t ask for better,’ a welcome home long over due for Honor Flight veterans

Welcome Home for Honor Flight Veterans

24 Alaska veterans returned home on Saturday following an honor flight trip to Washington D.C.

Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport was filled with welcome signs and the sound of bagpipes on Saturday afternoon as the veterans arrived home from their trip.

“When we heard the bagpipes, I went, ‘Wow,’ I can’t believe this,”
“You couldn’t ask for better.”

During the trip, put on by the Last Frontier Honor Flight, veterans visited various memorials and monuments throughout Washington D.C.

The goal of the Last Frontier Honor Flight is to fly as many veterans as possible to D.C., with trips typically consisting of 23 veterans, but this month they were able to send 24.
