Christchurch motorsport star Chris White, the 2024-2025 Bridgestone GR86 Championship Rookie winner, made a notable debut at Bathurst, supporting the Bathurst 1000.
White earned his drive in the third round of the 2025 Toyota Australia GR Cup due to his rookie successes in New Zealand. He aimed to make steady progress throughout the practice sessions, qualifying, and three races.
Although a significant crash in the first race hindered his chances of advancing from 26th on the grid, White showed improvement in the subsequent races. In the second race, he moved up to 22nd, and in the final race, he achieved a solid 14th place finish.
"We had set out to find the pace to be in or just outside the top ten within the three races so in the end getting to 14th with only two races was pretty satisfying,"
he reflected on his performance.
