A ProPublica investigation found that federal agents have held scores of U.S. citizens, some for more than 24 hours.
Despite Justice Brett Kavanaugh's statement that citizens shouldn't be concerned, many have experienced harsh treatment, including being dragged, tackled, beaten, tased, and shot by immigration agents.
“If the officers learn that the individual they stopped is a U.S. citizen or otherwise lawfully in the United States,” Kavanaugh wrote, “they promptly let the individual go.”
Author's summary: Trump's immigration agents detained over 170 US citizens.
