Panama Denounces New U.S. Pressure Over Chinese Companies

Panama's President José Raúl Mulino accused the United States of pressuring Panamanian officials to reduce the presence of Chinese companies in the country.

According to Mulino, U.S. embassy staff in Panama have threatened to revoke entry visas for Panamanian officials who favor Chinese companies.

This development comes after U.S. President Donald Trump previously threatened to take back the Panama Canal, arguing it is under Beijing’s control.

Author's summary: Panama rejects US pressure on Chinese companies.
