Three in four doctors concerned about health impacts of climate change: physicians warn ‘the NHS is simply not prepared’

Doctors Concerned About Health Impacts of Climate Change

New data from the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) reveals that three in four doctors (75.1%) are worried about the impact of climate change on their patients' health.

A survey of RCP fellows and members found that only 16% of responding doctors felt their workplace was prepared for extreme weather events, such as heatwaves or flooding.

The NHS is simply not prepared

This comes as the Climate Change Committee warns the UK must prepare for 'unprecedented' extreme weather events due to at least 2C of global warming by 2050.
