A total of 12 motorists were arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) during the week of Oct. 6-12 on Big Island roadways.
According to the Hawai‘i Police Department, this brings the total number of DUI arrests for the year to 708, which is a 7.69% decrease from the 767 arrests made during the same period in 2024.
Four of the arrested drivers were involved in traffic crashes, and none of them were under the age of 21. The arrests were made in the following districts:
