Shooting at Alcorn State University
A shooting occurred at Alcorn State University, resulting in one death and two injuries.
The university advised students to seek shelter immediately and not leave until given an all-clear sign by Campus Police.
- The shooting happened near the Industrial Technology Building at approximately 6:30 p.m.
- Three victims with gunshot wounds were found by officers upon arrival.
- Claiborne County Sheriff Edward Goods confirmed one woman is deceased and two others were injured.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Alcorn State University Police Chief Doug Stewart has turned the case over to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, with assistance from the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office.
