Tasmania has achieved a remarkable redemption in the Sheffield Shield, securing a three-run victory over Western Australia.
After suffering a tight loss the previous summer, Tasmania pulled off one of the closest wins in Sheffield Shield history. Western Australia required 259 runs to win and got within seven runs of their target with two wickets in hand.
Joel Curtis was adjudged lbw on 50 by a Riley Meredith ball that stayed low from around the wicket.
Their chase ended when Jackson Bird trapped No.11 Liam Haskett lbw with an in-swinging yorker, dismissing Western Australia for 255.
Author's summary: Tasmania wins by 3 runs.
