The CARES cat shelter in Langley is expecting a large number of kittens at its upcoming adoptathon, aiming to find forever homes for the cats and kittens in its care.
The no-kill shelter event, taking place on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the PetSmart Langley location, will match adopters with kitties needing forever homes. According to Clive Ellis, a board member,
"The last time we had a relatively few number of kitties, but should have plenty for this upcoming event."
Despite the event's purpose, CARES is struggling, with Ellis explaining that
"Each year it becomes more difficult to cover our expenses, especially with the large number of intakes that are coming our way lately."
