Police Raid Colonie Hotel in Search for McDonald's Robbery Suspect
Colonie Police and Saratoga County Sheriff's Deputies raided the Econo Lodge Inn Suites in Colonie on Saturday night as part of the search for Joseph Hess.
Joseph Hess, a 32-year-old man from Frankfurt, NY, is accused of robbing a 76-year-old woman at the McDonald's parking lot in Ballston on Thursday. During the robbery, he allegedly stole the woman's pocketbook and ran over her with his car, leaving her with compound leg fractures.
Police were seen breaking a window at the Econo Lodge on Saturday night, and SWAT team members were heard calling out Hess's name over a loudspeaker, instructing him to come out with his hands up.
