Luzerne County Election Board’s Post-Election Adjudication to Start Sooner
The Luzerne County Election Board’s post-election adjudication will commence earlier than in previous years.
According to County Election Director Emily Cook, the adjudication process will begin on Thursday, November 6, at 9 a.m. on the third floor (courtroom A) of the Penn Place Building.
Adjudication determines the validity of flagged mail and provisional ballots and tallies write-in votes. The process, which is open to the public, may require additional sessions to complete.
Traditionally, adjudication begins the Friday after elections
Cook attributed the earlier start to changes in procedures, prioritizing adjudication preparation.
