Man Arrested for Threatening to Shoot Up Atlanta Airport
Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum announced the arrest of Billy Joe Cagle, 49, at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
Cagle, a Cartersville man, was taken into custody after his family informed Cartersville police that he was heading to the airport and had threatened to shoot. His family also reported that he had been livestreaming on social media before entering the airport around 9:30 a.m.
- Cagle was not armed when he entered the airport.
- An AR-15 assault rifle was found in a pickup truck parked outside the airport.
Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum believes Cagle was inside the airport initially to scope it out.
