SHIFT'25 Closes With Industry Focused on Action, Trade, and Collaboration

SHIFT'25 Conference Highlights Industry Collaboration and Action

The SHIFT'25 conference, hosted by PeopleForBikes, concluded after three days of discussions and working sessions focused on addressing the bicycle industry's most pressing challenges.

Held in Bentonville, Arkansas, the conference brought together industry leaders to collaborate on key issues, including trade and tariff developments, regulatory changes, domestic manufacturing, and youth engagement.

A central concern throughout the conference was the Section 232 steel and aluminum tariffs, with a proposed expansion that would impose additional 50% duties on imported bicycles, frames, and certain e-bikes.

The recently proposed expansion would add to already burdensome tariffs and create potentially severe cost increases for brands and consumers.
