Investigators have accused the owner of a Schenectady medical transportation company of stealing nearly $2 million from the state's Medicaid program.
Mohammad Chaudhry, 43, allegedly inflated Medicaid bills from January 2020 to September 2024 by submitting false claims for rides that never occurred, overbilling for group rides, and lying about the destinations of rides.
The company's office manager, 45-year-old Noah Shook, is also accused of paying kickbacks to Medicaid recipients as part of the scam.
No further comments were made by the officials.
